Herald is developed by Jesse Collis. This privacy policy describes how Herald handles your information.

The short version: Herald does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app operates entirely on your local network and communicates with no external servers.

Information We Collect

Herald collects no personal information. The app does not require an account, does not ask for personal details, and does not include any analytics, tracking, or telemetry code.

Network Discovery Data

Herald uses Bonjour (mDNS/DNS-SD) to discover services on your local network. All network discovery happens on-device and on your local network. No discovered service data is transmitted off your device or stored beyond the current app session.

Apple App Analytics

If you have opted in to share diagnostics and usage data with app developers through your device's privacy settings, Apple may provide the developer with aggregated, anonymous analytics such as:

This data is collected and anonymized by Apple, not by Herald. You can opt out of sharing this data at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements. For more information, see Apple's privacy documentation.

Third-Party Services

Herald does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics services, crash reporting tools, or advertising frameworks.

Data Storage

Herald does not persist any data between sessions. There are no user accounts, no cloud storage, and no server-side components.

Children's Privacy

Herald does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is a general-audience network utility tool.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
